Mural ...originally defined as any piece of artwork on a wall, ceiling, or other large permanent surface. Murals today are painted in a variety of ways, using water based products that are environmentally friendly. The styles can vary from abstract to trompe-l'œil and can be added to any space , large or small. Many people like to express their individuality by commissioning an artist to paint a mural in their home. Popular requests are often for artwork that incorporates memories of a pleasurable trip, or other nostalgia. Trompe L'Oeil...the name given to the style of painting which achieves the sense of being three dimensional. In other words the painted object is suppose to "trick" the viewer into believing the object is actually real.
